This letter is sent to acknowledge your letter dated November 13, 1979, on behalf of the State of Illinois requesting the Nuclear Regulatory Comission to halt construction of the Bailly Generating Station, Nuclear 1 because of its location close to a major urban area. Your request has been referred to the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation for action.
Your letter is being treated as a request for action under 10 CFR 2.206 of the Comission's regulations. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(b), appro-priate action will be taken on your request within a reasonable time. I enclose for your information a copy of the notice that is being filed for publication with the Office of the Federal Register.
