20535 Gentlemen:
Please provide route approval fer the following spent fuel shipments.
First Shioment:
Two casks model SB/23 certificate NO-USA /6032/B( )F.
Each cask contains 12 MTR type fuel elements and has a gross shipping weight of 34,304 lbs.
Second Shioment:
Same as first shipment The two shipments of two trailers each are scheduled with the first one departing port cf arrival about December 4, 1979 and the second arriving at destination about December 17, 1979. Each over the road trip will require about ten hours.
The shipments will originate at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Va., upon unloading frar arriving vessels and will be delivered to the Department cf Energy's Savannah River plant at Aiken, South Carolina.
We understand that you have already prepared a route overview and description for shiprents between these points, and will appreciate receiving this ce: ail along wi.th your approval for these shipments.
This request is submitted in ace:rdance with the require-ments of 10CFP73.37 and the related guidance in NUREG-0561 (June 1979).
