Dear Mr. Reid:
In a letter dated December 17, 1979, Sacramento Municipal Utility District committed to provide to you emperical data regarding loading of the auxiliary feedwater pumps onto a diesel generator-powered bus. This letter forwards that information.
The attachment shows diesel ger.erator bus 4A voltage and frecuency as a function of time after auxiliary feedwater pump P-319 was loaded.
The bus which was carrying all other ECCS loads at time zero was powered by the "A" diesel generator. The information was obtained during performance of test procedure 600-21 during Rancho Seco's initial startup testing. Steady state load at time zero was 1.88 megawatts. On start of the auxiliary feedwater pump, frequency dropped to 57.4 Hz and voltage dropped to 3224 volts.
Regulatory guide 1.9 limits are 57.0 Hz and 3120 volts respectively.
