ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 INAPPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION FOR ENGINEERED SUPPORTS NC2 SN-M-79-15 10 CFR 50.55(e)
FINAL REPORT Description of Condition The Quality Assurance program for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant requires that all engineered supports be fabricated and installed in accordance with approved drawings and any applicable approved field change requests (FCR's) or support modification requests (SMR's).
Contrary to this requirement, sixteen supports in unit 2 were found to oe documented as acceptable, based on rejected SMR's.
This condition was discovared during a QA audit and was written up as an audit deficiency.
Safety Implications Had this condition gone uncorrected, there would have been doubt as to the acceptability of these engineered supports.
Corrective Action For all of the supports in quastion, SMR(s) have either been approved or the inspection cards have been invalidated.
For all invalid inspection cards, SMR's are being resubmitted for approval or the hangers are being reworked, in accordance with approved pro-cedures. A review of the SMR log through September 1979 has indicated that a total SMR log review is not necessary. We are now in full com-pliance with Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Construction Procedure P-30.
