20555 In the Matter of DUKE POWER COMPANY (Amendment to Materials License SNM-1773 for Oconee Nuclear Station Spent Fuel Transportation and Storage at McGuire Nuclear Station)
Docket No. 70-2623 Gentlemen:
In response to your Orde M of October 31, 1979, the following affidavits are enclosed:
1.
Affidavit of Jack N. Donohew, dated January 11, 1980.
2.
Affidavit of. Charles R. Marotta, dated January 31, 1980.
3.
Affidavit of Edward Lantz, dated February 8,1980.
4.
Affidavit of John Zudans, dated January 28, 1980.
An additional affidavit evaluating radioactive exposure of operating employees will be submitted when completed in the near future.
We point out that the affidavits of both Mr. Charles R. Marotta and Mr. Edward Lantz deal with criticality. They are consistent technically, although these affidavits deal with the criticality matter by two different approaches.
Both analyses address realistic initial conditions that may be assumed when analyzing postulated accidents in a spent fuel pool.
In addition to Mr. harotta's realistic analysis, Mr. Harotta's andlysis contains a conservative analysis that envelops his and Mr. Lantz's realistic approaches.
Sincerely, M b.%
