Dear Mr. Denton:
The application for construction permits and operating licenses for Byron Station Units 1 and 2 and Braidwood Station Units 1 and 2, docketed September 20, 1973 in NRC Docket Nos.
50-454, 50-455, 50-456 and 50-457, are hereby amended by submittal of Amendment No. 18 pursuant to Section 50.34 of 10 CFR 50.
In addition to voluntary text and response revisions, this amendment contains Commonwealth Edison's responses to the questions generated by the NRC Staff during the Byron and Braidwood FSAR acceptance review which were contained in Reference (a).
With this amendment, commonwealth Edison has responded to 165 of the 189 questions transmitted in Reference (a).
Responses to the following 24 questions were not available in the time frame allotted for this amendment:

i Mr. Harold R. Denton: February 8, 1979 Responses to all these questions will be submitted prior to June 1, 1979 with the exception of Question 110.14 which requires extensive analyses.
The results of these analyses are projected to be com-pleted and available early in 1980.
Questions 372.9 and 372.11 requested that on-site meteorological data from Braidwood and Byron Stations be provided in magnetic tape form for the period January 1974 through December 1977.
The requested data is being provided on separate magnetic tapes under separate cover with this amendment.
Three (3) signed originals and fif ty-seven (57) copies of this amendment are submitted for your review and approval.
