Areas Insoected:
Implementation of the requirements of Title 10 CFR 50, Appendix S, in the areas of design inspection, design change control, design corrective action, and action on previous inspection findings. The inspection involved fifty-five (55) inspector-hours on site by two (2)
NRC inspectors.
Results:
In the four (4) areas inspected there v,ere no unresolved items identified in any of the areas, no deviations identified in three (3) of the areas, and the following identified in the remaining area.
Deviation:
Design Change Control - Two (2) examples of failure to follow procedures controlling the issuance of addendums to specifications.

Attachment (a) 1/15/79 Page 2 of 2 Corrective Action 1.
Action taken to correct the deviation Addendum 7 to Specification 5023-200-3 deletes the reference to SCN C-09 from Addendum 6 ar.d incorporates SCN C-09 in Addendum 7.
An audit by Project Quaiity Assurance on January 5, 1979 has demonstrated that the deviation cited in item B of your letter is not a single isolated incident.
Therefore, further action is being taken by having each responsible engineer review documents under their cognicance to determine the extent to which this deviation exists. Any deviations noted by this purge will be immediately corrected.

Action taken to orevent recurrence Quality Er.gineering and Quality Assurance Supervisors have reevaluated their document review techniques and have by memo advised those individuals responsible for the review of specifications of the necessity to review all documentation noted for incorporation to assure that the elements described in those documents appear in the specification addendum or revision.
3.
Action comoletion dates The action described in 1 and 2 above will be completed by February 27, 1979.
