Dear Congressman Crane:
Thank you for your letter of May 12, 1980. which expressed your acoreciation for our efforts to improve the schedulb for our consideration of the Illinois Power Company's application for an operating license for its Clinton Nuclear Power Plant.
Although comitment of our resources to the licensing review of near tem operating license plants has not permitted us to start our review of the Clinton Plant, I am pleased to inform you that we expect to docket this case this month and proceed with our review in the near future.
As you know our safety and environmental reviews are substantive and require the application of substantial professional technical review effort.
Never-theless, we will make every effort possible to have our reviews complete by the time construction is complete and qualified personnel are available to operate the plant.
