BASES FOR SAFETY EVALUATIONS The " loss of both main feed pumps" signal is a control signal used to auto-start the motor driven auxiliary feedwater pumps.
No credit was taken in the safety analysis for the auto-start of the motor driven auxiliary feedwater pumps by this signal. The reference to the signal was inadvertently left in section 4.7.1.2.2.b of the Technical Specifica-tion.
The protection grade auto-start signals available to start the motor driven auxiliary feedwater pumps are (1) safety injection signal, (2) steam generator low-low level for one steam generator, and (3) loss of off-site power.
Removal of the 18 month surveillance requiremenc, to test the sub-ject signal, does not involve an unreviewed safety question.
