Washington,D.C. 20002 Gentlemen:

I'm shocked to learn you are still considering the export of components for a nuclear power plant to be constructed by hestinghouse in a volcanic, earth-quake zone in the Philippines.

Especially now when new construction of nuclear powerplants in the U.S. is wanin5, your attitude is still TO EZLL WITE PEOPLE, even the 18,400 Americans stationed at Clark Air Force Base let alone the 8 million people in the Manilla i.rea.

Moreover, I understand this design has never been subjected to a safety leview by U.S. regulatory agencies and that thereis no place in all the Philippines for the permanent disposal of' atomic wastes.

You are also against public hearings and 2 suits aSainst this licence clearance have been dismissed.

The reason is obvious a secrecy will enable you to,get away with dumping " nukes" on the Third World and support one.of the most repressive re5 mes in the 1

world.

t

>crecy also enables you to connive with big business interests nd against humanitarian interests.

Do you wonder the American people are distrustful of the IG10, especially after the Kemeny Report.

S ncerely, i

ol A.
