February 8, 1980 Docket No. 50-313 Mr. William Cavanaugh, III Vice President, Generation and Construction Arkansas Power & Light Company P. O. Box 551 Little Rock, Arkansas 72203

Dear Mr. Cavanaugh:

By letter dated January 9,1980, you provided infomation regarding fire protection hydraulic requirements for the new hose stations (Item 3.11 from our August 22, 1978 SER).

We have reviewed the hydraulic calculations and pump performance curve and determined that sufficient water pressure is available to supply the required quantity of water to these new hose stations.

Based on the above, we find that the design proposed for these new hose stations provides the protection intended in our SER and is, therefore, acceptable.

Sincerely, d

h.
