On January 30, 1980, at 29% power, with the reactor in the run mode whfie running the HPCI Auxiliary 011 Pump to obtain an oil sample as required by the oil sampling program procedure, the auxiliary oil pump feeder breaker tripped. Personnel immediately reset the breaker and successfully restarted

the pump. An investigation into the cause of the breaker trip revealed i

that the coil of a time delay relay, located in the motor control center, l

had failed. This relay is used to series resistance in the motor armature.

l The coil was replaced and the pump was successfully run.

This is not a repetitive event. This event is not applicable to Unit I due to the utilization of different components for the llPCI Auxiliary 011 Pump.
