EncloseJ ;rt five (5) copies of Revision 12 to the currently approved and effective
" Industrial Fecurity Plan," AD 1808.00, for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1.
These changes have been analyzed and it has been determined that they do not decrease the effectiveness of the approved security plan. The requirements to conduct the performance tests on the Main Steam Line 1 and 2 hatches while Davis-Besse Unit No. 1 is operating were deleted for personnel safety considerations.
The tests will be conducted when the plant is in Mode 5 or 6.
In order to gain access to the roof area where the hatches are located, a person must pass through another vital area access control point for which the performance tests are conducted while operating.
There are no ladders or similar devices which permit direct access to the roof, within eighteen feet of the ground.
In addition, a roving patrol guard checks that the Main Steam Line Hatches are closed every two hours.
This revision is being submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p) as the report containing a description of the change.
Application is being made to withhold the enclosed information from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(d).
