Dear Ms. Clusen:
This is in reply to your March 22, 1979 letter to Chairman Hendrie in connection with the " processing site" designation for Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and supporting draft engineering evaluation and environ-nental analysis reports.
Staff comments on the engineering evaluation and environmental analysis were sent to Dr. Mott last year.
We are enclosing copies of the comments for your use.
As you requested, my staff will make arrangenents to meet with Dr. Mott to discuss the proposed designation of the Canonsburg site and to establish procedures to use for meeting our respective responsibilities under the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act of 1978.
The organizational component within the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards which will be primarily responsible for our work related to the Canonsburg site is the Division of Fuel Cycle and Material Safety.
For purposes of coordination, I suggest that future correspondence be directed to:
