This certificate is issued to satisf y Sections 173.393a.173.394,173.395, and 173.396 of the Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations (4S CFR 170189 and 14 CFR 103) and Sections 146-19-10a and 146-19-100 of the Department of Transportation Dangerous Cargoes Regulations (46 CFR 146-149), as amended.

684 and 684E (2) Description A steel encased uranium shielded Gamma Ray Projector.
Primary components consists of an outer steel shell, internal bracing, polyurethane potting material, depleted uranium shield, and a zircalloy "S" tube. The contents are securely positioned in the zircalloy "S" tube by a source cable locking device and shippina plug. Tamper-proof seals are provided on the packagina and a 1/4-inch thick steel shipping plate is bolted over the source locking mechanism for additional protection during transport.
The total weight of the cackage is approximately 225 pounds.
