TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON TASK A-17 By letter dated June 20, 1979 from Sandia Laboratories to S. H. Hanauer, a number of questions were raised concerning the alignment and operation of plant systems.
The answer to these questions is gemane to detailed structuring of fault trees.
You are requested to research the questions in your particular area (decay heat removal, reactor subcriticality, reactor coolant pressure boundary, support systems, and fault tree structures) and prepare a reply to assist the Sandia personnel in their task of structuring the fault trees.
Ycu are urged to provide me with a reply as quickly as you possibly can, and you need not wait until you have all the answers.
I can " feed" answers to Sandia on a piece-meal basis as you complete the work.
I have made a tentative distribution of the specific questions which are contained in the enclosed letter. The distribution is as follows:
