August 17, 1979 PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Unit No.1 Decommission Annual Report Docket No. 50-171 The following summarizes the status of the Peach Bottom Unit No. 1 Decommission Facility for the year of 1978, based on the semiannual inspections required by Technical Specification Requirement 8.2.4(a).
1.
There is no significant damage or structural deterioration observed in the security fence surrounding the exclusion area.
2.
There is no significant damage or structural deterioration observed in the containment vessel, spent fuel building enclosure, or radwaste room within the exclusion area.
3.
There is no significant damage or structural deterioration observed in the designated barricades within the exclusion area.
4.
There is.no condition observed indicating a degradation in the security controls and procedures.
5.
There is no evidence of around water movement between the exclusion area and outside the exclusion area.
6.
There is no significant change in the radiation or contamination levels in the facility.
7.
There are no removable contamination levels above 1000 dpm detected.
8.
There are no radiation levels at required survey locations above 2 mR/hr.
9.
Fhximum airborne activity was 1.1 X 10-9 Ci/cc.
Isotopic analysis identified source to be naturally occuring short lived daughters from the radium present in the conctate.
10.
Absolute filter sample on containment equalization line indicate.
Radiation Level -
less than 2 mR/hr.
Contamination Level - dpm
- 11. There were no reportable occurrences reported during the year to the NRC as required by Technical Specification 8.2.4.(b).
