Dear Mr. McClintock:

This is in reply to your letter of 26 January 1979 regarding one item of noncompliarce noted during an inspection of the National Naval Med-ical Center licenses on 8 and 9 January 1979.

The following corrective action has been taken to insure compliance with our license conditions:

a.

Personnal of the Nuclear Medicine Clinic that prepare radio-pharmaceuticals received additional instruction on the use of syringe shields and their importance in reduction of exposure to extremities on 1 February 1979.

b.

Radiopharmaceutical preparation procedures will be observed by supervisory personnel to insure that staff and student members use syringe shields as prescribed in license #19-02891-05.

Full compliance was achieved on 2 Feoruary 1979.

c.
