This is in response to your letter dated February 20, 1979 ident Nying deviations of up to 10 percent from the overall barrier height require-ment of 10 CFR 73.2(f)(1). We have determined that such a deviation does not decrease the effectiveness of your physical protection plan and is therefore authorized.

In order to formalize this determination, we are hereby amending Section 9.0 of Materials and Plant Protection Plan MPP-2 to your License No.

SNM-777 by adding License Condition 9.4.2 as follows, effective immediately.

9.4.2 The licensee is granted a limited exception to the requirements of 10 CFR 73.2(f)(1) in that the overall height of the protected area fence may be reduced by up to 10 percent of the required height to accommodate erosion control grading, frost heaves and excavation along the protected area perimeter.
