VllfGINIA HLECTitic AN D l'OW HIf C O htl'A N Y ItICIEMON D,VI HOIN I A 2UM 61 March 10, 1980 Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director Serial No. 205 Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation LQA/ESGirab Attnt Mr. O. D. Parr, Chief Light Water Reactors Branch No. 3 Docket Hos. 50-338 Division of Project Management 50-339 U. S. Nucinar Regulatory Cornission Washington, D.C.
20555 Deer Mr. Dentont At your request, we have reviewed Tablos 1-2, I-3, 11-1, 111-1, IV-1, and Vl-1 from NUREG-0611, entitled " Generic Evaluation of Feedwater Transients and Small Break Loss-of-Coolant Accidents in Westinghouse-Designsd operating Plants."
The parameters IIsted in these tables are identical for both I.inits 1 and 2 at North Anna. Ve have noted the following two Itens, however, which require correction:
1.
Table I-2 lists an ECC5 Initiation setpoint for low pressurtzer pressure coincident with low pressurizer level. This setpoint has been changed en both units to low-low pressurizer pressure (1765 psig).
2.
Table I-2 also Indicates that North Anna 1 and 2 are equipped with positive displacement charging pumps.
This is Incorrect.
Each unit is provided with three contrifunal charging /hlgh head safety injection pumps.
A pump performance curve for these pumps is provided in Figure 6.3-6 of the FSAR.
Please contact us should you require additional Information on this subject.
