NUCLEAR REGi"*ICRY COMMISSION REGUL. 'RY GUIDE Notice of Issuance and Availability The Nuclear Regulatory Comr:ssion has issued a revision to a guide in its Regulatory Guide Series.
This series has been developed to describe and make available to the public methods acceptable to the NRC staf f of impic-menting specific parts of the Commission's regulations and, in some cases.
to delineate techniques used by the staff in evaluating specific problems ce postulated accidents and to provide guidance to applicants concerning certain of the information needed by the staff in its review of applications for pemits and licenses.
Regulatory Guide 5.58, Revision 1. " Considerations for Establishing Trace-ability of Special Nuclear. Material Accounting Measurements." presents conditions and procedural approaches acceptable to the NRC staff for complying with the Comnission's regulations for establishing and maintaining traceability of special nuclear material control and accounting measurements.
Traceabil ity neans the ability to relate individual measurenent results to the national standards of measurement through aa unbroken chain of ccaparison with reference standards.
This guide was revised as a result of public corrnent and additional staff review.
