SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF FEBRUARY 14, 1980 MEETING WITH VEPC0 AT THE NORTH ANiiA POWER STATION, UNIT 2 SITE We met with representatives of the Virginia Electric and Power Company at the North Anna Power Station site to discuss matters regarding our revised list of requirements dated February 6,1980 for near-term operating license applicants. A list of attendees is presented in the Enclosure.
Significant points related to our site visit are summarized below:
1.
The staff toured the North Anna Unit 2 plant and placed particular emphasis on where components and related instrumentation were instalit.1 to satisfy the requirements specified in (1) the Lessons Learned icsk Force Report - Short Term (NUREG-0578), and (2) the revised sist of requirements dated February 6,1980 for near-term operating license applicants.
2.
Detailad discussions were held regarding each item specified in our revised list of requirements.
3.
With respect to our requirement regarding examination of the control room to identify outstanding human factor deficiencies and any instrumentation problems, VEPC0 indicated that they have been evaluating control rooms since the licensing of the Surry facility and have made modifications as necessary.
They indicated that they will provide information regarding this matter in the very near future.
