FOURTH SET OF INTERROGATORIES 0 THE ST ATF OF TEXAS

1. In a memorandum of January 15, 1979 by Hearing Examiner Jeff Browning of the Texas Railroad Commission, Mr. Browning stated: "However, another primary factor (in the decision to reconsider Docket 600) was the surplus of natural gas which currently exists in the intrastate market."

Describe all documents and evidence in the possession of the Railroad Commission which show'a surpluse of natural gas in the intrastate markets.

In particular, identify specific testimony are evidence presented by the RRC staff or other parties to the Docket 600 proceeding which provides evidence of such a surplus and was a significant factor in the Commission's Final Order.

(In identifying documents, please provide either the number of pages in each document or the copying cost, plus the name and address of the officer to contact at the RRC).

2. Has the railroad commission estimated increased supplies of natural gas which will be made available to Texas firms due to passage of'the National Natbral Gas Policy Act de-regula-ting prices?

If so, summarize the estimates and the time frame of the predictions?

Will the gas be made available through existing contracts or new contracts?

3. Does the railroad commission possess documents relating to new techniques of naturhl gas exploration and how buch techniques will impact supplies?

Describe all documents within the possession of the Texas Air Control Board which: (a.) consider the effect of.the Industrial Fuel Use Act of 1978 on air quality attainment in the Houston area; (b.) consider the possibility of air quality exemptions for natural gas conversion required under that Act; or (c.) relate to the legal relationships between the Industrial Fuel Use Act and Clean Air Act.
