CISI/AGNS SUBMERGED DEMINERALIZER SYSTEM DESIGN FOR THREE MILE ISLAND NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT NO. 2 We have reviewed the results of tha TMI-2 containment building water sample analysis performed by ORNL and your action items and proposed project schedule for CNSI/AGNS submerged demir.erali;er system design.

In order to schedule our review of safety evaluation report on the subject system we request that you provide us the following information no later than October 25 1979.

(1) Results of ORNL process evaluation test using ion exchange columns with the TMI-2 containment building water samples.

(2) Results of process parameter optimization study conducted by ORNL and CNSI.

(3) Complete process diagram indicating (a) expected activity concentrations in each process stream for each nuclide present, and (b) expected concentrations of non-radioactive

chemicals in each process strea=.

(4) Expected activity (curies) loading in each decineralizer resin bed.

(5) Description of filter media to be utilized and expected separable solid loading in each filter.

(6) Total expected volume of spenL resin and filter media.
