This refers to the inspection conducted during the period from May 15
through June 12, 1979 by personnel from the IE Resident Office at Three
. Mile Island of activities authorized by the NRC and to the discussions
of our findings held by the Chief, IE Resident Office with Mr. J. Logan
and other members of your staff on May 25, 1979 and June 15, 1979.
Areas examined during this inspection period are described in the Office
of Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with
this letter. Within these areas, the inspection activities consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews
with licensee and contractor personnel, measurements made by the inspectors,
and observations by the inspectors.
NRC personnel provided 24 hour2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> per day
inspection coverage on site during this period.
NRC concerns identified during this inspection period were relayed to
management personnel in your organization when those concerns were
identified.
Corrective actions were adjudged adequate for the time
period available to respond to those concerns and additional enforcement
measures are therefore not being taken at this time.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part
2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the
enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document
Room.
If this report contains any infomation that you (.or your contractor)
believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you make a written
application within 20 days to this office to withhold such infonnation
from public disclosure.
Any such application must be accomrianied by an
affidavit executed by the owner of the infonnation, which icentifies the
document or part sought to be withheld, and which contains a statement
of reasons which addresses with specificity the itams which will be
