20555 Attn:

Mr. A. Schwencer

Dear Mr. Schwencer:

This is to inform you that two conditions of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Unit-1 Facility Operating License No. NPF-2, required to be completed prior to unit startup af ter the first refueling outage, have been completed.

These are conditions C(3)(b) and C(3)(e) concerning installation of long term means of reactor overpressurization protection and replacement of instrumentation for measurement of pressurizer level, steam generator wide range level, steam generator narrow range level and the reactor coolant system pressure, respectively.

It is Alabama Power Company's understanding that a license amendment is not required prior to startup after the current refueling outage since the two subject license conditions have been satisfied.

If you have questions please advise.

Yours very truly, 7,
