Thank you for your letter dated March 19, 1979, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance identified in our letters dated February 12 and March 2, 1979. While your letter states you will file an application for an appropriate amendment to achieve corrective action for one of the items of noncompliance, we understana from our telephone conversation of March 30, 1979, that until you receive an amended license, you will install sights on weapons delivered to you and not forward sights to general licensees for them to perform the installation.
Please advise us immediately if our understanding is not correct.
You should understand that no activity is in accord with NRC regulatory requirements unless and until it is specifically authorized in an NRC license. Steps should be taken to ensure that NRC licensed materials are hereafter possessed and used only as authorized by your license. We will examine this matter during a future inspection.
