This refers to your application dated February 16, 1979 in which Duquesne Light Company (DLC) has elected to utilize the " Solid Radioactive Waste Packaging Quality Assurance Program" to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 571.51.
The SRWP QA program description contains numerous references to the "DLC QA Program."
It is requested that DLC identify the "DLC QA Program" as the operational QA program for the Beaver Valley facility. This can be accomplished by identifying the applicable docket number, the amendment number of the application and, if necessary, letters sent to the docket that describe the accepted QA program which meets the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50.
In addition, DLC should identify on a chart the organizational elements, including a description of their QA responsibilities, which will function under the control of the QA program for shipping packages of radioactive ma terial. Also, please clarify if the "SRWP QA organization" identified in Section 1.2.1 is the same as the "DLC QA Department" identified in Section 2.2.3 of the SRWP QA program description.
