This office has received a copy of your flovember 2,1978 request which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation for review and approval.
The request is for relief from the testing requirements of the 1974 ASME Section XI Code for inservice testing of pumps and valves for North Anna 1 (Facility License i;PF-4).
The request was not accom-panied by an approval fee as prescribed by Section 170.22 of 10 CFR 170.
Requests for cpprovals such as that identified above should be classified in the same manner as applications for license amendments in Section 170.22.
Section 170.12(c) requires that your company provide a proposed determination of the amendment (approval) class, state the basis therefor, and submit the fee with your application for the approval or amendment.
He have determined from our preliminary review that the requested action falls in fee Class III ($4,000) because the relief requested involves con-sideration of a single safety issue.
You should promptly forward to this office the Class III fee of $4,000.
Fees are payable to the U.S. lluclear Regulatory Commission by check, draft, or money order.
If after the final evaluation of your request is completed it is determined that it was incorrectly classified, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
