e FEB 2 71979 D3CKET fl0. 50-267 Public Service Company of Colorado ATTil:

Mr. C. K. Millen Senior Vice President P.O. Box 840 Denver, Colorado 80201 Gentlemen:

This office has received a copy of your January 30, 1979 request for approval of chances to your operator requalification program pursuant to Section 50.54(i-1) of 10 CFR Part 50 which you filed with the Oper-ating Licensing Branch (DPM).

The request relates to your program for Fort St. Vrain l uclear Generating Station.

The request was not accom-panied by an approval fee as prese ibed by Section 170.22 of 10 CFR Part 170.

Requests for approval of changes required by Section 50.54(i-1) should be classified in the same manner as applications for license amendments in Section 170.22.

Section 170.12(c) requires that your company provide a proposed determination of the amendment (approval) class, state the basis therefor, and submit the fee with your application for the approval or amendment.

We have determined from our preliminary review that the requested action falls in Class II which requires an approval fee of $1,200.

You should forward the Class II fee of 51,200 promptly to this office.

Fees are payable to the U.S. Iluclear Regulatory Commission by check, draft, or money order.

If after the final evaluation of your request is completed it is determined that it was incorrectly classified, you will be billed for any additional amount due.

As a matter of information, changes to other programs which must be sub-mitted to the Commission for approval pursuant to Part 50 (such as phy-sical security plan changes pursuant to 50.54(p) which decrease the effectiveness of the plan) or otherwise require ilRR review and approval should also be classified in the same manner as described above.

If we can be of assistance to you, call 301-492-7225.

Sincerely,

/u (J i h.,,iaUW 7 9 0 315 0 Sllg William O. Miller, Chief License Fee Management Branch Office of Administration
