On February 5,1979, a report was made under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) concerning the water hammer analysis for the Recirculation Spray Coolers.
In accordance with the reporting requirements of 10CFR21, the following information is submitted:

Description of defect, deficiency, or failure to comply:
The Recirculation Spray Coolers are subject to a hydraulic transient upon start-up of the Recircula-tion Spray Pumps.
The coolers have not been specifically analyzed or tested for this transient.
