Preferred Route The proposed right of way is owned by the Company, or an casement has been obtained.
As such, there are no structures in the proposed alignment.
The only land uses along the preferred route arc' agricultural leases which Edison permits on this property.
The total mileage of irrigated field crops traversed by the route is 10-3/4 miles.
There are no residential, commer-cial, industrial or dedicated open space areas along this trans-mission line right of way.
The total length of the proposed route is 36.9 miles.
Land use in the vicinity of the right of way is shown on the attached map entitled:
Existing Land Use (1975) Valley-Mira Lolya Segment.

Riverside County Land Use Study, Urban / Regional Planning, Southern California Edison Company, April 1976.
Land use along a ten mile segment of the preferred route was obtained by aerial reconnaissance in October, 1978.
B.
Alternate Route The right of way of the alternate route contains four land uses as determined from the Eastern Division:

The overall length of the alternate is 39.0 miles, which includes the five mile distance leading into the Mira Loma Substation, which is a common alignment with the preferred route.
Land uses along the alternate route are as follows:

Agriculture 18 miles Parks and Open Space 7/3 mile Residential 1/2 mile Light Industrial / Commercial 1/4 mile The agriculture is predominantly irrigated field crops with approximately 3 miles in orchards south of Lake Mathews and in the Eagle Valley.
The open space is the Riverside County Hartford Springs Park which is an undeveloped 525 acre regional facility.
The residential use is located adjacent to Magnolia Boulevard and the Riverside Freeway and is single family residential for 3/8 mile.
An additional 1/8 mile is an isolated dwelling. unit.in the hills south of Lake Mathews.
The light industrial / commercial use is located north of the Riverside Freeway.
It is classified as commer-cial recreation and is a horse stabling and riding facility.
The remainder of the land is vacant, and some of it probably is used for grazing.
