NARRATIVE

REPORT LER 7 9-28 With the unit in cold shutdown during the perf ormance of IC:p-2-3309, !!PCI Turbine Exhaust Diaghran Pressure Ff6C, pressure instrument s 2E41-5012A-D were discovered to be calibrated with a head correction of 13.8 psig.

These instruments are on a dry leg and should not be corrected for head pressure. As a result of this error the as f ound setpoint was 21.8 psig which exceeds the Technical Specification of <10 psig (Table 3.3.2.2-4c).

i A possibic procedure error was noted at the Line LER 78-096 was submitted.

A progran was initiated to review all instruments for errors of the same type.

The surveillance procedure, HNP-2-3309, was revised aid the instrument cali-j bration was corrected durin:; normal surveillance. The instruments were Barksdale pressure switches. The calibration procedure, IINP-2-5279, was also revised to correct the setpoint. There was no eff ec t on public health and saf et y.
