Dear Mr. Davis:

This letter is in reply to your correspondence of February 15, 1979 concerning the " Notice of Violation" for activities authorized under Special Nuclear Materials License No. SNM-142. In response to the specified " Notice of Violation" we submit the following informa-tion on corrective action taken:

1.

The second criticality monitor for the FBBF was reinstalled after maintenance on Wednesday, January 31, 1979.

Calibration and connections to the alann systents were completed on February 3, 1979. All alarms and interfacing to the ventila-tion system and FBBF controls were tested and found to be operational.

2.

In the future, ir one of the alarm systems becomes inoperative, immediate steps will be taken to repair or replace it promptly.

3.

Full compliance with license condition 12 was achieved on February 3, 1979.
