Thank you for your letter of December 1,1978, in response to our letter dated October 25, 1978. As a result of our review, we find that additional information, as discussed with you during a telephone call on December 19, 1978, is needed. Specifically, for items A, C, and F, please identify the method in which the stated instructions to the responsible personnel were documented, to provide an auditable record of your actions. Additionally, for item F, please identify the way in which the stated examinations.of the weld materiai storage area by the Quality Control Department are documented.
.For item D, you have stated that verification of the magnetic particle bath concentration is performed at least once every eight (8) hours and will be documented.
However,'you did not address the verification and documentation thereof, of the black light intensity.
For item G, while it is agreed that a telex was sent by the Product Engineering manager stating that the drawing was in error, rather than an unacceptable process being used, the question remains regarding the apparent failure to verify that all welding operations specified on the Process Sheet are in accordance with the Product Drawing.
Please provide the actions taken to prevent recurrence and the date that the action will be implemented.
Item E shall remain open until your stated, forthcoming response is received and reviewed. As stated in your letter, your course of action will be developed by January 2, 1979.
