TOPICAL REPORTS ON LOSS OF HEAT SINK Enclosed are seventy (70) copies of each of the following reports:
WARD-D-0169, " Response of the Plant to a Postulated Loss of One Heat Transport Loop with Failure of Both Reactor Shutdown Systems" WARD-D-0170, " Response of the Plant to Anticipated Reductions in Feedwater Flow with Postulated Failure of Both Reactor Shutdown Systems" These documents provide analyses of the ability of the CRBRP to accommodate postulated loss of heat sink events. They show that neither loss of component structural integrity nor loss of core coolable geometry results from a loss of one heat transport loop or reductions in feedwater flow with failure of both reactor shutdown systems.
The responses previously submitted to the NRC that are related to this topic will be updated in a future amendment to the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR).
