Export of Special Nuclear Material This letter refers to an inspection conducted by Mr. Arnold Wieder of this office on May 9,1979 of Transnuclear's activities under NRC License XSNM-1270. The inspection was conducted at Rockwell International, Energy Systems Group, Canoga Park, California.
This inspection was conducted as part of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's program for testing and verifying activities incident to the export of special nuclear material.
Within the scope of this inspection, which is guided by the requirements of Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70, "Special Nuclear Material," Part 71, " Packaging of Radioactive Material for Transport and Transportation of Radioactive Material Under Certain Conditions," and Part 110 " Export and Import of Nuclear Facilities and Materials." No apparent items of noncompliance were found.
In accordance.with Section 2.790(d) of the Nuclear Regulatory Comission's
" Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of our findings on your methods for safeguarding special nuclear material are exempt from disclosure.
Therefore, the enclosed inspection report will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive a limited distribution.
