Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Per the NRC Staff request of Reference (a), Commonwealth Edison Company revises its application for approval of its program to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 71.51 as follows:
Under 10 CFR Part 71, " Packaging of Radioactive Material for Transport and Transportation of Radioactive Material Under Certain Conditions," a quality assurance program satisfying the provisions of Paragraph 71.51 is required.
Accordingly, and as provided under Paragraph 71.51(d),
the NRC Staff approved Commonwealth Edison Company Quality Assurance Program for Nuclear Generating Stations, CE-1-A, Topical Report, Revision 6, which satisfies the applicable criteria of Appendix B of Part 50, shall be deemed to fulfill the quality assurance requirements for transport packages covered by 10 CFR Part 71.
This Company Quality Assurance Program is applicable to all Commonwealth Edison operating nuclear generating stations.
