Dear Mr. Reid:
We have reviewed your March 8,1979 request for additional information concerning the CR #3 pump and valve in-service inspection p rogram which we submitted on November 21, 1977 and have determined that we vill require 135 days f rom the date of your letter to adequately respond to teese concerns.
This 90 day extension beyond the submittal schedule proposed in your letter is necessary due to the volume and complexity of the questions raised by your staff, and the extensive work effort presently underway at CR #3 in preparation for our first refueling outage commencing April 23, 1979.
However, we do recognize the need to discuss these outstanding issues with your staff as resolution of these concerns could affect the in-service inspection scheduled for the upcoming refueling outage.
We would thei fare like to propose a meeting with your staff at Crystal River Unit 3 during the early part of the week of April 16, 1979. We will be prepared to discuss and, hopefully, resolve all outstanding issues concerning our ISI program at that time.
Formal submittal of our response to your request for additional information would be accomplished on or before July 23, 1979 and would reflect the resolutions reached during these site discussions.
