Dear Mr. Burstein:
In conducting our review of your letters of July 18,1977, and November 8,1978, relating to the reactor vessel materials surveillance program for Point Beach Nuclear Plant Unit flos. I and 2, we have determined that we will need the additional information identified in the enclosure to continue the review.
In order for us to maintain our review schedule, your response is requested within 60 days of receipt of this letter.
Three signed originals and forty copies are required.
Please contact us if you have any questions concerning this request.
In response to the question in your November 8,1978 letter regarding test procedures and analysis methods to be applied to the WOL specimens to show compliance with Section V of Appendix G to 10 CFR 50, we recommend that such testing be postponed for the present pending ccepletion of tests and development work currently undervay in the HSST program.
This work should be completed by the fall of 1979.
Accordingly, we should complete our review of this work and formulate our recommendations for testing and analysis of WOL specimens early in 1980.
