Dear Dr. Hendrie:
A front page news item in the 9 August 1979 issue of The Lincoln County I ews quotes portions of a letter to you requesting extended shutdown of the I.:aine rankee Atomic power plant.
The news ite: apparently identifies To: Trotforidge as Director of Civilian R:er5ency Preparedness in Edgecomb; erroneously indicates that Ed ecomb has no energency 5
evacuation plan; and requests the shutdown of Eaine Yankee.
The above statements are not true.
As you know, CZP is not a political agency; and does not advocate causes.
Its purpose at the commun,ity level is to act as energency planner and coordinator for local N
elected officials in tire o'f disaster of any kind, whether stors, nuclear, or other can-made.
