NRC STAFF RESPONSE TO THE PETITION TO INTERVENE FILED BY DOROTHY F. CARRICK By letter dated July 17, 1979, Dorothy F. Carrick asked leave to intervene in the above proceeding.
She states that she lives within a few n.iles of
+he plant, and her address is listed in Wallis, Texas.
She states that she is concerned about risk to her from possible " escaping radiation" or "a melt-down of the cone,"S as well as increased risk of floods due to the dam, and waste disposal.
The Staff believes that Ms. Carrick has adequately shown standing by fulfillment of the requirements of 10 CFR 52.714(a)(1) and (2) by indicating nearby resi-dency and a possible personal injury, as well as a specific aspect of the pro-ceeding she wishes to address by intervention.
Therefore, in order to assist Ms. Carrick in completing the requirements of 2.714, especially the obligation to submit a supplement to the petition listing S resumably, Ms. Carrick meant to write core, rather than cone.
