ENCLOSURE 1 SCOPE OF WORK Technical Assistance on Inservice Testing Programs Review as required by 10 CFR 50.55 a(g).
BNL will provide technical assistance to the D0R staff in the review
,of Inservice Testing Program for pumps and valves as required by 10 CFR 50.55a(g).
The review will include the reivew of proposed and updated programs for the following power stations:
Connecticut Yankee Cooper Indian Point 2 San Onofre Three Mile Island Kewaunee Yankee Rowe Browns Ferry 1, 2, 3 Fitzpatrick Arkansas Point Beach Pilgrim 1 The program objectiie is to provide recommendations to the staff's evaluation of the licensee's proposed and periodically updated inservice testing program to assure compliance with the regulations.
The scope of the work includes:
a)
Evaluating the technical basis for relief from ASME Section XI ode requirements taken by the licensee that are determined to be impractical for his facility.
b)
Provide input for round one questions which will be transmitted to the licensee to request additional information.
c)
Evaluating the licensee's responses and participating in meetings with the NRC and the licensee to resolve f ether differences. This may involve trips to the plant or the NRC to have meetings with the
- licensee, d)
Prepare a written input to the Safety Evaluation Report on the proposed inservice testing programs.
e)
In addition to the technical review, BNL will assist the staff in clarifying governing documents, in responding to ACRS requests for information and by appearing ct hearings.
