This memorandum provides guidance to EG&G to support the Division of Operating Reactors in an "&C area important to the safe operation of nuclear power plants.
The scope of this work and schedule are defined in the enclosure. The FY 1979 ID Financial Plan will be modified to include an additional $50,000 for this work under B&R 20 19 04 031, FIN A6256.
Bimonthly reports providing technical progress and financial status should be forwarded to this office.
Interim reports should be provided on the completion of major program milestones.

The enclosed NRC Form 173, Standard Order for DOE work, for $50,000 is hereby submitted in accordance with Section III.B.2 of the DOE /NRC Memorandum of Understanding of February 24, 1978.
Please indicate DOE acceptance by signing and returning the enclosed NRC Form 173 to the NRC Office of the Controller, Division of Accounting, with a copy to the Office of NRR, Attention P. Triplett.
