50-498/79-02 50-499/79-02 Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted cu. ing the periods January 23-26 and January 30 - February 2, 1979, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 as indicated below:
Failure to Control Superseded Drawings Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, Criterion VI, " Document Control," requires that revisions to drawings be controlled and that they be distrib-uted to and used at the location where the prescribed activity is performed.
Brown and Root Quality Control Procedure A040KPDCP-5, " Recovery and Destruction of Superseded Documents," includes provisions which allows retention of superseded revisions, only if they are appropriately marked as superseded and are controlled.
Contrary to the above:
On January 23 and 24, 1979, copies of superseded revisions of blueprints K7024-E23 and K7024-E302 were noted on field drawing sticks identified as Control Record copies No. 038 (2 locations) and 103.
These blueprints were not identified as superseded, nor were they controlled.
This is an infraction.
