REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT PROPOSED TRANSPIRATION PLAN FOR DISPOSAL OF WASTE (GLE-2019-0105)
Dear Ms. Jenny:
Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) submitted a waste disposal transportation security plan to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by a non-publicly available letter dated July 11, 2019 (GLE-2019-0105) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML19198A084). The letter was accepted for formal review via NRC email dated July 31, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19212A720). The plan is part of a GLE effort to reduce the amount of legacy materials stored at the facility prior to the proposed company restructuring.
The NRC staff reviewed the proposed security transportation plan and identified a number of requests for additional information (RAI), which must be provided for the NRC staff to complete the review. Please provide a written response to the enclosed RAIs, and a corresponding update to the security transportation plan, within 30 days from the date of this letter.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
