d ATTACHMENT 3 In addition to the "significant deviations" discovered during Bulletin 79-14 inspections, four deviations which were discovered during Bulletin 79-02 inspections and evaluated asBulletin 79-14 problems, also affected system function. These are tabulated below Unit System No. of Significant Deviations 2
HPCI 3
3 HPCI 1
A nonconformance was recently discovered as scismic support R-16 on RHRSW in unit 1 due to its inability to carry lateral load. Subsequent review revealed this support to be a recommended typical in the EECW system. A followup site inspection of the EECW system was performed by design personnel. Based on that inspection, TVA's initial judgement is that there is no safety problem. A typical and worst case line will be rigorously analyzed to ierify that judgement.
The August 15, 1979, Supplement to 1E Bulletin 79-14 permits utilitics to reanalyze using either the original analytical techniques or alternate, conservative techniques.
TVA is presently evaluating its original analytical techniques to de craine the best method of reanalysis.
