,INSER'/ ICE INSPECTION REQUIRE'ENTS The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Ccmmission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 31 to Facility Operating License No. CPR-2, issued to the Connenwealth Edison Concany (the licensee), which revised the Technical Soecifications for Unit 1 of Dresden Nuclear Power Station (the facility)

Iccated in Grundy County, Illinois. The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.

This amencment revises the provisions of the Technical Soecifications by reclacir.g the existing inservice inscection recuirements in Section 2.6.: with an inservice inscection program that meets the requirements of 10 CFC, 50. 55a (g ).

By letter cated Sectenber 29, 1979, as succorted by the related Safety Evaluation, the Ccmmission has also granted relief frca certain recuirements Of :ne ASME Code,Section XI, " Rules for Inservice Inscection of Nuclear Power Plan Com:cnents to the licensee.

The relief relates to :Se inservice ins:ection crogram for the facility. The ASME Ccce recuirements are incor cr3:ec by reference into the Commission's rules and regulaticns in

7590-01 The acclication for the amendment and recuest for relief comply with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and *he Commission's rules and regulations.

The Ccmmission nas made approcriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amencment and letter and Safety Evaluatico granting the relief.

Prior Dublic notice of this amendment was not recuired since the amendment does not involve a significant ha:ards consideration.

Tne Ccemissicn has determined that the issuance of this amendment and granting of this relief will not result in any significant environmental incact and inat ::ursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(a) an environmental im::act statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be preparea in connection with issuance of these actions.
