Dear Mr. McClintock:

As a follow-up to my letter dated January 30, 1979 ccacerning an inspection of December 28, 1978, the following is submitted for your information.

An audit of the entire nuclear pacemaker program was conducted by Mr. Carl Collica on February 2, 1979. The results of this audit were reviewed by my office and the Medical Radioisotope Committee. The recommendations which resulted from this audit were found acceptable and reasonable to maintain compliance with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Please be advised that the original nuclear pacemaker protocol date:1 March 25, 1974 has been revised to:

1.

Include the recoc=endations by Mr. Collica that are pertinent to the protocol.

2.

Expand the protocol to include other manufacturers.

3.

Assist in maintaining compliance.

A separate request to amend license SNM-1504 to include these revisions has been made to the U.S.N.R.C Radioisotope Licensing Branch.

It will be noted that revisions made in the attached protocol are outlined in red.

Sincerely, e

Norman A. Brady cc: Carl Collica, M.S.
