. ea t; UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-72 THE INSTITUTIONAL COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH NOTICE OF RENEWAL OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE AND NEGATIVE DECLARATION The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Ccmission) has issued Amendment No.10 to Facility Operating License No. R-25 issued to The Institutional Council of the University of Utah (the licensee), which renews tne license for operation of the AGN-20lM nuclear research reactor (the facility) located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The facility is a research reactor that has been operating since September 12, 1957, and is currently licensed to operate at 5.0 watts (thermal). The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.
The amendment extends the duration of Facility Operating License
'No. R-25 until September 12, 1997.
The application for the amendment cceplies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license anendment.
Notice of the proposed issuance of this action was published in the FEDERAL R".GISTER on September 8, 1977 (42 F.R. 45049). No request for a hearing or petition for leave to intervene was filed folicwing notice of the proposed action.
The Commission has prepared an environmental im:act a:craisal for the renewal of the Facility Operating License and has concluded that an environ-mental impact statement for this particular action is not warranted because tnere will be no significant environmental imcact attributable to this action.
